Amelia Cotton Corl

Amelia founded Best Big Change LLC in July 2018. The firm delivers services in support of management, strategy, evaluation, and writing for public and private sector clients. She is an experienced trainer and is currently focused on customized in-person programs for new managers and cutting-edge approaches for feedback and conflict management.
Previously Amelia served as the Chief of Staff at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington, DC. In the Institute's Center for Applied Conflict Transformation, she oversaw monitoring and evaluation activities and performance management initiatives. She was also charged with strategic planning, budgeting, and human resources management for staff in Washington and overseas.
Prior to her work at USIP, Amelia worked at the US Agency for International Development where she worked closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and the head of the Bureau for Policy, Planning, and Learning. In these roles she was responsible for advising the leadership team on management, communications, and policy priorities. She coordinated the Agency's internal performance management data system, and coached technical experts on effective communication and presentations to the executive team.
Amelia also served as a senior consultant at International Business Machines (IBM) in the Global Business Services division, where she led change management projects, IT implementations domestically and overseas, as well as communications activities.
